Our Purpose:
Funding Medical Research to Save Lives
Anaphylaxis is a life threatening allergy - it only takes a few minutes before a person experiences suffocation and heart failure.
You may not know that you have anaphylaxis until you accidentally come into contact with something that triggers an allergic reaction that kills you within minutes.
Many things can cause anaphylaxis including nuts, eggs, sesame seeds, seafood, medicines, bees, wasps and ant stings.
We want to raise money to fund significant research efforts in Australia and fund global collaboration.
The Medical Reality:
There are NO Vaccines currently available.1
People frequently outgrow allergies to milk, soybeans, and eggs when they leave childhood, but allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish tend to be lifelong.1
In people who have had a reaction to an insect sting, 30% to 60% will have a repeat reaction that is as severe or more severe than the first episode.2
It takes only 1 to 2 minutes for a mild allergic reaction to escalate to anaphylaxis.2
The incidence of acute anaphylaxis is increasing. Reasons for this increase are poorly understood.3
